1980 - 1983

I had started driving for Arnel Tours on the weekends while driving MARTA during the week. They were buying new buses and a friend of mine that I had grown up with in Cincinnati, Ohio worked there and he loved it. In December 1980 I resigned from MARTA and worked full-time for Arnel Tours.

I brought all my old groups from Trailways to Arnel and things were like they were at Trailways. I traveled around the country and when it was slower I started helping out in the office.

I had wanted to go to college - now was the time. In 1983, in the fall when things slowed down at work – I applied at DeVry University and only worked part-time driving buses on the weekends. While attending college, I worked full-time for the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead as a parking valet supervisor during the week.

My friend left Arnel and started his own company - Adventure Lines Inc. He bought new Neoplan Buses with the European Look and I left Arnel to join him again. Eventually, he bought out Arnel Tours & I was back with my old customers once again.
